Opening of the First edition of Giffoni Macedonia Film Festival

The opening of the first edition of the Giffoni Macedonia Film Festival took place at the Cinema Milenium on October 17th at 19:30h. The Executive Director of the festival - Ms. Elena Velickovska Nikolovska together with the Artistic Director Mr. Ivo Antov addressed the audience and explained this year's motto "STEPS". After that the Director of the Film Fund of Macedonia took podium and gave his speech in front of the full theater. The applause of the young "giffonesi" and the other distinguished guests was tumultuous when the Director of the Giffoni Expirence - Mr. Claudio Gubitosi took the podium and explained his experience of Macedonia and the significance of the Giffoni Macedonia Festival. Ten steps away – Giffoni Film Festival

We are very happy to announce that the first edition of the Giffoni Film festival will take place this month, from the 18th until the 22nd. The theme of our first edition is STEPS. In this edition there will be three categories of jurors: 10+ (only local jurors), 13+ and 16+ jurors. The students from many schools in Skopje have already been selected and are preparing for this wonderful event. We are also receiving the confirmations from other countries and delegation among which the most numerous is the Italian one with 14 students in the categories 13+ and 16+. Republic of Macedonia will for the first time be the host of the educational Children’s Film Festival “Giffoni Macedonia”. On that occasion, we are pleased to invite you to join the promotional event The Giffoni Day and take part in the activities that will take place at the Youth Cultural Centre, the Cinematheque of Macedonia, the Faculty of Dramatic Arts and Macedonia Square on May 27 2013. The Giffoni Day will involve the active participation of about 280 students from Macedonian primary and secondary schools, divided into three age groups (10-12 years, 13-15 years and 16-18 years).
